Located in the historic old town of vegueta, the Guiniguada theatre is a reference of the city's heritage. formerly the Avellaneda cinema, its project started in the first half of the twentieth century and, it has undergone several restoration works through the years to adapt to meet the current public needs. It has become today an stable tribune of exibition for cultural productions, mostly Canarian, looking for resident and visitors to have a platform where to enjoy a permanent stage quality programme. It has become one of the exhibition halls of the International Film Festival of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
