All Saints’ Day – Los Finaos

Culture, leisure and tradition come together in the city with the celebration of los finaos, the local name for the festivity that commemorates the deceased. The historic neighbourhood of Vegueta hosts various activities between 31 October and 2 November, such as chestnut and pine-kernel roasts, as well as traditional music and dancing. The old town also celebrates the tradition of All Saints’ Eve with a theatrical performance of Don Juan Tenorio by Zorrilla.

In the neighbourhood of San Lorenzo, the Noche de los Finaos brings neighbours together in the main square to pay tribute to the deceased.
