Cono Sur

Of the five beaches of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, two are located at the southern entrance to the city. The first, La Laja Beach, facing the open sea, also features natural swimming pools. The second is La Puntilla Beach, small and family-friendly, located in the seafaring neighbourhood of San Cristóbal. This is a picturesque and simple enclave, with colourful houses at the edge of the Atlantic Ocean, where visitors can enjoy fresh fish in its restaurants.

This was a strategic defensive point of the city, of which remains the Tower of San Pedro, raised over the sea.
