Insular Theater Hall

The Island Theatre Hall, located next to the Cabildo de Gran Canaria, offers an annual programme of theatre for all ages, educational concerts, as well as music and dance performances.

The origins of this venue are linked to the former Centro Insular de Cultura, a multidisciplinary space that opened in May 1987 within the complex formed by the asylum of the Congregación de las Hermanitas de los Ancianos Desamparados and the church of Nuestra Señora de los Desamparados.

After numerous setbacks, the collapse of part of the structure in 2002 forced the closure of this important facility, which had been a major driving force for culture on the island. In 2017, it reopened on the site of the former church as the Island Theatre Hall, dedicated to the promotion and presentation of the performing arts.

Box office opening hours:
Open only one hour before each performance.
