En la prueba de fotografía submarina, del 5 al 7 de octubre en Las Canteras, han confirmado su participación un total de 35 fotógrafos profesionales
Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, martes 2 de octubre de 2012.- La playa de Las Canteras acogerá el próximo fin de semana, del 5 al 7 de octubre, el concurso internacional de fotografía submarina, LPA Fotosub, que organiza el Ayuntamiento de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria por cuarto año consecutivo. Unos 35 fotógrafos profesionales se han inscrito en la competición, entre ellos los campeones y subcampeones del mundo, Arturo Telle, Juan Antonio Carballo e Isidro Felipe Pérez, para retratar durante tres días los fondos marinos de la bahía de El Confital. El ópen fotográfico que tiene como escenario las zonas de Playa Chica, El Charcón y Peña la Vieja se ha posicionado como una prueba singular entre los concursos de fotografía submarina en España al integrar la participación de algunos de los mejores fotógrafos profesionales del momento, con aficionados a la fotografía submarina sin importar la edad, los conocimientos técnicos o el equipo fotográfico. En la edición de este año se espera la participación de unos 300 fotógrafos entre los que destacan los participantes con cámara compacta, muchos de ellos, aficionados y profesionales que se inician gracias a que el buceo ha dejado de ser considerado un deporte de riesgo y que la tecnología digital se ha adentrado en el mundo de la fotografía. Las Canteras cuenta en esta época del año con condiciones singulares para lograr estampas únicas por la vida que acoge, aseguró la concejal de Ciudad de Mar, Mimi González, “su capacidad para regenerarse, la carencia de depredadores y sus condiciones al abrigo de la Barra permite que sea el lugar de cría de numerosas especies.”. Por su parte, el director técnico de la prueba, Enrique Fáber destacó la diversidad de algas que tiene la playa y la incidencia de la luz sobre la fauna y el fondo marino, al tratarse de una zona poco profunda, que permite realizar instantáneas de gran belleza. Cada fotógrafo profesional podrá competir en las categorías reflex digital o compacta digital, dependiendo del tipo de cámara de cada concursante. Los fotógrafos tienen libertad para captar las instantáneas y deberán presentar una colección de seis fotografías siendo obligatorias las siguientes modalidades: - Ambiente con modelo: Fotografía con la presencia de un buceador, tanto en apnea como con equipo de buceo. - Ambiente sin modelo: Paisaje submarino sin la presencia del modelo. - Pez: Esta categoría engloba las fotos de peces, pudiendo ser un pez entero, primer plano de pez o grupo de peces. - Macro no pez: Fotografía macro de cualquier especie marina que no esté considerado pez (algas, invertebrados, etc). - Alga: Foto que muestre algas, tanto foto angular o macro. - Creativa: La foto creativa se deja abierta a la interpretación que considere el fotógrafo, valorándose la dificultad, la técnica y la vistosidad y belleza de la misma. Una de las pruebas singulares del Fotosub Las Canteras es el Cazafotosub en apnea. Se trata de pescar imágenes de peces a pulmón libre. En esta modalidad prima la cantidad de especies distintas que se logre fotografiar y el jurado valora la dificultad para localizar las especies y fotografiarlas. En este caso, los fotógrafos podrán bucear desde la Peña La Vieja y La puntilla, siempre dentro de la zona entre la Barra y la orilla. Los niños son los grandes protagonistas del evento. Además del open infantil en la que podrán participar 80 pequeños fotografos submarinos con premios para todos los concursantes desde cursos de iniciación al surf, libros sobre la naturaleza sumergida del archipiélago, guías desplegables de cetáceos y tortugas y posters de especies marinas de Canarias", entre otros. Se ha convocado también un concurso de dibujo escolar y el sábado y el domingo por la mañana habrá bautizos de mar gratuitos y el taller: Aula del mar: sumérgete en Las Canteras. El éxito del LPA Fotosub viene avalado por su alta participación en las modalidades de aficionados, con 80 fotógrafos, y el universitario en el que se espera la participación de 60 estudiantes. Los aficionados a esta actividad en auge, a caballo entre el deporte y el arte, podrán aprender más de la fotografía submarina en dos talleres gratuitos que se desarrollarán el domingo por la mañana en las carpas del evento en el paseo de Las Canteras, a la altura de las calles Nicolas Estévanez y Franchy Roca, sobre “Snorkeling y apnea. Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Tuesday 2nd October 2012.- Las Canteras Beach will host next weekend, from the 5th to the 7th October, the International Submarine Photography contest LPA Fotosub, organised by the City Council of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria for the fourth consecutive year. Around 35 professional photographers have registered in the competition, among who stand out the world champions and finalists Arturo Telle, Juan Antonio Carballo and Isidro Felipe Pérez, to picture the seabed of El Confital Bay during the next three days. The photographic open contest that has the area of Playa Chica, El Charcón, and Peña la Vieja as background has become a singular event among the submarine photography contests around Spain since it integrates the participation of some of the current best professionals with amateur submarine photographers no matter how old, skilled or equipped. In this year’s edition, 300 inscriptions are expected, standing out those who participate with compact camera, being amateurs many of them since diving is no longer a risk activity, and given the fact that technology has made its way through underwater photography. In this season of the year, Las Canteras Beach presents unique conditions to achieve impressive pictures due to the life if shows, says the Councillor of City of Sea, Mimi González, “[…] its regeneration capability, the lack of predators and its natural conditions, being sheltered by La Barra reef, allows to be the breeding ground for many species”. Meanwhile, the technical director of the event, Enrique Faber highlighted the diversity of algae that the beach has and the incidence of light over fauna and seabed, since it is a shallow area ideal for taking astonishing images. Each photographer can compete in digital reflex or digital compact categories, depending on which type of camera will be used. Photographers are free to take pictures and must present a collection of 6 photographs being mandatory the following modalities: - Ambiance with model: Picture with the presence of a diver, whether in apnea or equipped. - Ambiance without model: Underwater environment without the presence of a diver. - Fish: This category reflects pictures of fish, whether fully shown, partially shown, close-up of group of fish. - Macro without fish: Macro picture of any marine species not considered as fish (algae, invertebrate, etc.) - Algae: picture showing algae, whether in angular or macro. - Creative: picture free of interpretation by the photographer, valuing the difficulty, technique and flashiness and beauty of it. One of the singular tests of Las Canteras Fotosub is the Cazafotosub (Fotosub-hunt) in apnea. The aim is to take pictures of fish free diving. This modality values the quantity of different species pictured and the jury will value the difficulty to locate the species and picture them. In this case, photographers will be able to dive from Peña la Vieja and La Puntilla, always between the area of La Barra reef and the shore. Children are the main characters of the event. Apart from the kids open, with the possibility of registering up to 80 young submarine photographers with prizes for all participants, from surf-learning lessons, books about underwater nature of the Canaries, folding guides about cetaceans and turtles and marine species posters of the Canary Islands, among others. A school drawing contest is also programmed for Saturday and on Sunday morning there will be first-dives for free and the workshop: Sea Class: Dive in Las Canteras. The success of the LPA Fotosub is endorsed by the high participation in the amateur category, with 80 photographers and the university category, expecting 60 students to be registered. People interested in this raising activity, in the middle of art and sport, will be able to learn more about underwater photography throughout two workshops about “Snorkelling and apnea. Basic techniques and safety”, and “Professional photography equipment”, which will take place on Sunday morning at the event tents located at Las Canteras Promenade, between the streets Nicolás Estévanez and Franchy Roca.
