El concejal de Turismo del Ayuntamiento de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Pablo Barbero, y el director del Palacio de Congresos de Canarias – Auditorio Alfredo Kraus, Luis Acosta, han recibido hoy viernes 26 de abril, a los presidentes y directivos de una decena de Sociedades Científicas y Médicas de España, a quienes les han expuesto las fortalezas que ofrece la capital grancanaria como ciudad de congresos.
El Palacio de Congresos de Canarias ha sido la primera parada de los representantes de estas instituciones médicas y universitarias, que se encuentran en fase de seleccionar las futuras sedes de sus eventos, dentro de un viaje de familiarización a la Ciudad (Fam Trip) para posicionar el destino LPA Meetings.
Barbero ha explicado que se trata de dar a conocer Las Palmas de Gran Canaria “de manera directa y cercana con todo su potencial de infraestructuras, servicios turísticos y de ocio, para que estas sociedades científicas valoren la capital grancanaria como la anfitriona de sus reuniones de trabajo”.
El programa de la visita incluye, además del encuentro en el Palacio de Congresos de Canarias-Auditorio Alfredo Kraus, un recorrido por las principales zonas comerciales de la capital grancanaria y la asistencia, hoy viernes 26 de abril, al concierto de la Orquesta Filarmónica de Gran Canaria.
El barrio histórico de Vegueta, el Teatro Pérez Galdós, el Centro Atlántico de Arte Moderno (CAAM), el Gabinete Literario, Bandama y el Jardín Botánico Viera y Clavijo, serán los escenarios que, mañana sábado 27 de abril, conocerán los representantes de estas instituciones de cara a la celebración de sus congresos en los próximos dos años.

The City Councillor of Tourism of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Pablo Barbero, and the director of the Alfredo Kraus Auditorium and Congress Hall of the Canaries, Luis Acosta, received today, 26th of April, the presidents and executives of ten Science and Medical Societies of Spain who were showed the strengths offered by the Grancanarian capital city as a congress city.
The Congress Hall of the Canaries was the first stop of these representatives of the university and medical institutions which are selecting the future seats for their events through a familiarisation trip to the city (Fam-Trip) to position the LPA Meetings destination.
Barbero explained that it is a question of making public Las Palmas de Gran Canaria “directly and closely, with all its potential of facilities, tourist and leisure services, so that these science societies assess the capital city of Gran Canaria as the host for their work meetings”.
The visit schedule includes the meeting at the Alfredo Kraus Auditorium and Congress Hall of the Canaries, a tour along the main commercial areas, and the attendance today, 26h of April, to a concert by the Philharmonic Orchestra of Gran Canaria.
The old town of Vegueta, the Pérez Galdós Theatre, the Atlantic Centre for Modern Art (CAAM), Gabinete Literario, Bandama, and the Viera y Clavijo Botanic Gardens will be the places where tomorrow, 27th of April, the representatives will get to know focusing on the congresses to be held in the next two years.
