La Puntilla Beach is located next to the fishing dock of San Cristóbal, in the south entrance of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. It is a small cove of 50 metres of length, with golden and black sand. A family beach with calm waters since it is sheltered by the fishing dock.
The coastline of San Cristóbal also looks towards the horizon from a stony beach, flaked by the Castle of San Pedro Mártir (16th Century), declared Historical Monument. The beach was used by ancient fishermen of this borough to throw the nets of the chinchorro (an old fishing art that is forbidden nowadays). Today, the beach is oftenly osed by surfers due to the good waves existing there.
