Triton, the messenger god from the depths of the sea, son of Poseidon, is committed to welcome travellers who arrive to Las Palmas de Gran Canaria from the south-north highway (GC-1). It is a nine-metre tall sculpture that points the city with its finger of the right hand whereas with its left hand sounds a conch. It is located at Punta del Palo, a natural viewpoint over La Laja Beach and with astonishing views towards the ocean.
