Of all the areas of the ancient forest of El Lentiscal, now covered in vineyards, the Peak and Caldera of Bandama (a collapse and not a crater, as it seems) are undoubtedly the most spectacular geographic spots and places to be visited. One of the most singular archaeological sites of the island is found here: The Cave of The Canarios, a group of room-sized caves and collective barn located on the inner north slope of the caldera. This site was declared Protected Space by the Natural Spaces Law of the Canary Islands, due to the interest of its volcanic morphology and thermophilic vegetation of the place.
