The association Orden del Cachorro Canario was founded in 1991 with the aim of promoting the awareness of the Canary identity, spreading its history, traditions and customs. The group, identified with the traditional Canary hat, the "cachorro", a symbool considered by the association as an "identity item shared with other people".

This house is also the meeting point of its members, in an environment conceived to share their experiences and to spread the Canary traditions and knowledge of the culture of the Canaries.
The Council of Tourism shares an agreement with the Orden del Cachorro Canario so that it can be visited by tourists in its seat of Vegueta: from Monday to Friday, from 9am to 1pm.
