Las Palmas de Gran Canaria ya ha comenzado a recibir a las tripulaciones de la regata transoceánica ARC 2013 (Atlantic Rally for Cruisers), uno de los eventos náuticos de mayor repercusión a nivel internacional. En esta 28ª edición, más de 230 embarcaciones con banderas de 25 países zarparán el próximo 24 de noviembre desde la bahía de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria rumbo a la isla caribeña de Santa Lucía, una travesía de 2.700 millas náuticas se ha convertido ya en una prueba de referencia dentro del circuito mundial.

En torno a 1500 personas procedentes de 30 países, incluidos niños menores de 16 años, conforman este año la tripulación de la ARC. La mayor parte de los regatistas procede del Reino Unido y también habrá una amplia representación de Alemania, Italia, Noruega, Holanda o Rusia, además de embarcaciones españolas.

La mayoría de los barcos participantes en la Regata ARC 2013 son cruceros familiares que afrontan la travesía, -en la que invertirán entre 18 y 21 días, dependiendo del estado del mar y la fuerza de los vientos- por el placer de navegar y vivir una aventura única,

A menos de dos semanas para la salida de la ARC + y tres semanas para la salida de la ARC las embarcaciones las tripulaciones pueden  disfrutar de una amplia oferta de ocio antes de emprender la larga travesía.

Las Palmas de Gran Canaria has already started to see the arrival of the crews of the transoceanic regatta ARC 2013 (Atlantic Rally for Cruisers) one of the most important international sailing events. In this 28^th edition, more than 230 boats under flags of 30 countries will set off next 24th of November from the Bay of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria heading to the Caribbean island of Saint Lucia, a 2700 nautical-mile-long crossing which is already a reference event into the world sailing agenda.

Around 1500 people from 30 countries, including children of less than 16 years of age, form the ARC sailing crews. The most represented flag is Great Britain whereas other countries are highly represented such as Australia, Germany, Holland, Italy, Spain, France, Denmark, Russia, Sweden, Finland and USA among many more.

The majority of the cruisers are familiar boats who face the Atlantic crossing – which will take them, around 18 to 21 days depending on the sea and wind conditions- for the pleasure of sailing and t olive a unique experience.

With less than two weeks for the departure of the ARC+ (Las Palmas de Gran Canaria-Cape Verdes-Saint Lucia) and three weeks for the start of the ARC (Las Palmas de Gran Canaria – Saint Lucia), the crews can enjoy a wide leisure offer before embarking in such a demanding crossing.
