El Ayuntamiento de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, a través del Área de Limpieza, ha presentado hoy martes 24 de septiembre, el Plan de Choque de Limpieza Impacto 0, puesto en marcha por el Consistorio capitalino desde esta semana hasta el 31 de octubre, y que incluye la eliminación de pintadas, graffitis, publicidad y cartelería, de muros y fachadas, así como el acondicionamiento de las calzadas de las principales zonas turísticas de la ciudad.
En concreto, este Plan incluye la intensificación de la limpieza y posterior pintado, de las fachadas de los inmuebles por las que discurre la Guagua Turística con el objeto de revitalizar las principales zonas turísticas de la ciudad. Entre dichas calles se encuentra León y Castillo, Eduardo Benot; Pedro del Castillo Westerling; López Socas; Avenida Mesa y López, Tenerife; Paseo de Chil; Avenida Primero de Mayo; Bernardino Correa, la zona de El Pambaso, entrada al barrio de El Batán; Carretera General del Centro, Muro y Juan Salazar Herrera.
El proyecto ‘Impacto 0’, puesto en marcha por el Consistorio capitalino en marzo de 2012, ha eliminado, hasta agosto, 508 pintadas de fachadas, ha eliminado 883 graffitis y 11.690 carteles publicitarios, en 14 barrios del municipio.
Intensificación en las zonas turísticas de Puerto-Canteras y Vegueta
Estas actuaciones se suman a las ya puestas en marcha por el Consistorio capitalino para intensificar la limpieza de las zonas turísticas de la ciudad y que consisten en el refuerzo de las labores de limpieza, barrido, y baldeo en especial la zona Puerto-Canteras y Vegueta.
En concreto, en ambas zonas se ha aumentado el número de baldeos; de 1 a 3 semanales, y de barrido de las calles, se ha redistribuido personal con el objeto de aumentar la presencia de los operarios de limpieza a primera hora de la mañana; y se ha incrementado el número de maquinaria con el objeto de eliminar en el menor tiempo posible los residuos procedentes del ocio nocturno.
Por otra parte, en la zona de Puerto-Canteras, el Consistorio capitalino ya puso en marcha, el pasado julio, un Plan Integral que supone la dotación de un mayor número de medios humanos y técnicos, así como un incremento en las horas de actuación, con el objeto de mejorar el acondicionamiento de una de las zonas más emblemáticas e importantes de la ciudad, y que concentra una gran actividad comercial y de restauración.
Además, el Servicio de Limpieza Viaria ha aumentado los turnos de actuación al horario nocturno, desde las 23:30 hasta las 05:00 horas, en las calles Fernando Guanarteme, Portugal, Churruca, Los Martínez de Escobar, Doctor Grau Bassas, Simón Bolívar, Franchy y Roca y Padre Cueto, de manera que se incrementa las actuaciones de barrido, baldeo de pavimento y limpieza y acondicionamiento de contenedores en las zonas de ocio, restauración y hostelería, con el objeto de mejorar el entorno de una de las áreas turísticas más importantes de la ciudad.

The City of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, through the Cleansing Service, presented today Tuesday the 24th of September, the Action Plan “0 Impact” ran by the City Council from this week on until October the 31st, including the removal of graffiti, advertising and posters from building walls and façades as well as the refurbishment of pavements on the main tourist areas of the city.
This plan particularly includes the reinforcement of the cleansing and consequently re-painting of the building façades which are located along the Tourist Bus routes in order to revitalise the main tourist areas of the city. Included streets where this plan is going to be implemented are: León y Castillo, Eduardo Benot; Pedro del Castillo Westerling; López Socas; Mesa y López Avenue, Tenerife; Paseo de Chil; Primero de Mayo Avenue; Bernardino Correa, the area of El Pambaso, the entrance to the borough of El Batán; Carretera General del Centro, Muro y Juan Salazar Herrera.
Project “0 Impact”, started by the Town Hall in March 2012, has cleaned 508 painted façades, removed 883 graffiti and 11.690 advertising posters in 14 boroughs of the municipality until August.
Reinforcement in tourist areas of Port-Canteras and Vegueta
These actions sum up to those already started by the Town Hall to reinforce the cleansing on tourist áreas of the city, consisting of the strengthen of sweeping and wash down, specially in the áreas of Port-Canteras y Vegueta.
The number of wash-downs have been increased in both areas, from 1 to 3 per week and, in the case of sweeping, the personnel has been redistributed in order to increase their presence in the early morning hours; besides, more machinery has been used so that no traces of the night-life are removed as son as possible.
On the other hand, in the area of Port-Canteras, the City Council had already started last July an Integral Plan to supply a larger number of human and technical resources, as well as an increase in working hours to improve the maintenance of one of the most emblematic areas of the city where an important commercial and gastronomic activity is concentrated.
Besides, the Street Cleansing Services increased their number of shifts to the night hours, from 11pm to 5am on the streets Fernando Guanarteme, Portugal, Churruca, Los Martínez de Escobar, Doctor Grau Bassas, Simón Bolívar, Franchy y Roca and Padre Cueto, thus increasing the pavement sweeping and wash-down, and of cleansing and maintenance of trash bins in the leisure, hostel and restaurant areas so that the environment of one of the most important tourist areas of the city gets improved.
