• Los cruceros Queen Mary 2, Club Med 2, MS Hamburg, Thompson Majesty, P&O Ventura y Le Ponant atracarán el próximo sábado 20 y el domingo 21, en el Muelle Santa Catalina
• El Consistorio abrirá durante este fin de semana, el punto de información turística de la Casa del Turismo, tras su reapertura de ayer jueves 18 de abril
• La Guagua Turística contará con 6 vehículos para ofrecer recorridos por los principales puntos de la ciudad

El Ayuntamiento de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, a través de la Concejalía de Turismo, reforzará los servicios de atención e información  turística para atender a los 8.000 turistas de cruceros que desembarcarán en el Muelle Santa Catalina, el próximo sábado 20 y el domingo 21 de abril, a bordo de 6 grandes hoteles flotantes, entre ellos el Queen Mary 2 y el Club Med 2, que realizará su primera escala en la ciudad, como cierre de la temporada de cruceros hasta septiembre.

El área de Turismo reforzará la información que reciban estos cruceristas con informadores turísticos a pie de muelle, con el objeto de orientar a los pasajeros y facilitarles su visita en la capital grancanaria. También se reforzará la atención en la Casa del Turismo, tras su reapertura de ayer jueves 18 de abril, y en los puntos de información turística del Muelle Santa Catalina, Parque de San Telmo y la Plaza Hurtado de Mendoza, en la zona Vegueta-Triana.

La ciudad vivirá un fin de semana especial con la llegada de estos cruceros, entre los que se encuentra el emblemático ‘Queen Mary 2’, de la Cunard Line, que atracará el domingo 21 de abril, considerado el cuarto buque de pasajeros más grande del mundo, con 345 metros de eslora. La última vez que este trasatlántico estuvo en la capital grancanaria fue en noviembre de 2011. El mismo día llegará a la ciudad el velero de tres palos, ‘Le Ponant’, con 64 pasajeros de alto poder adquisitivo.

El sábado 20 de abril atracarán 4 cruceros. El asombroso velero de cinco palos ‘Club Med 2’, en su primera escala en la ciudad; el ‘Thomson Majesty’, con capacidad para unos 1.500 pasajeros;  el ‘P&O Ventura’, con unos 3.000 turistas y el ‘MS Hamburg’, con 400 cruceristas.

El Ayuntamiento de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, animará a los turistas a desarrollar experiencias de viaje de carácter urbano como compras, gastronomía e historia, complementadas con actividades ligadas al mar, la playa y los deportes náuticos.

La Guagua Turística aumenta su flota de vehículos

Por su parte, la empresa concesionaria del servicio de la Guagua Turística, City Sightseeing,  reforzará sus servicios durante este fin de semana para atender a los miles de cruceristas que recibirá la capital grancanaria. Con 6 vehículos garantizará una frecuencia de salida de 12 minutos y con una previsión de realizar 33 tours por la ciudad cada día. La Guagua Turística capta entre el 10 y el 14 % de los pasajeros que viajan en estos grandes barcos y que eligen recorrer la ciudad en este servicio turístico.

The City Council of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, through the Council of Tourism, will reinforce the services of attention and information to tourists in order to welcome the 8000 cruise-ship passengers that will arrive to Santa Catalina Dock next Saturday the 20^th and Sunday the 21^st of April aboard the 6 floating hotels like the Queen Mary 2 or the Club Med 2, which will make its first stop in the city, as a closure of the cruise-ship season.

The area of Tourism will reinforce the information given dockside to those visitors with tourists informants so that they are well oriented and to ease their visit to the Grancanarian capital. The attention given at the House of Tourism will also be reinforced after its reopening in the morning of last Thursday the 18^th of April, and at the tourist information points of Santa Catalina Dock, Parque San Telmo, and Plaza Hurtado de Mendoza, in the area of Triana-Vegueta.

The city will live a special weekend with the arrival of these cruise ships, among which the emblematic Queen Mary 2, of the Cunard Line, will highlight at her arrival on Sunday the 21st of April. With 345 metres of length, it is considered the world’s fourth largest passenger vessel. Last time it came to this capital city was in November 2011. The very same day, the 3-masted luxury cruise ship Le Ponant will also arrive with 64 affluent passengers.

On Saturday the 20^th of April, four cruise ships will berth: the astonishing 5-masted Club Med 2, on her first stop in the city; the Thomson Majesty, with a capacity of about 1500 passengers; the P&O Ventura carrying around 3000 tourists, and the MS Hamburg, with 400 visitors.

The City Council of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria will encourage tourists to live urban-shaped travel experiences like shopping, gastronomy and history, complemented with activities related to the sea, the beach, and nautical sports.

Tourist Bus widens its fleet

For its part, the concessionaire of Tourist Bus Service, City Sightseeing, will reinforce their services during this weekend to welcome the thousands of cruise ship passengers the Grancanarian capital will welcome. Thy will guarantee a departure frequency of 12 minutes with 6 vehicles and a foresight of 33 tours along the city each day. The Tourist Bus acquires between the 10% and 14% of the passengers that travel on these large vessels and who choose to visit the city on this tourist service.
