- La guagua turística ha transportado 31.158 viajeros en los cinco primeros meses de 2013
- Mediante una nueva promoción, los residentes en cualquier isla canaria pueden usar el servicio a precio reducido hasta el 30 de septiembre
El concejal de Turismo del Ayuntamiento de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Pablo Barbero, ha asistido, hoy lunes 17 de junio, en el acceso al muelle de cruceros de Santa Catalina, a la presentación de la nueva imagen exterior de la Guagua Turística de la Ciudad, que gestiona la multinacional City Sightseeing, coincidiendo con la escala del buque Oceana que traído a la capital grancanaria unos 2.000 pasajeros.
La Guagua Turística adapta su aspecto exterior a la nueva marca turística de la ciudad, al tiempo que incorpora la imagen de lugares emblemáticos como la playa de Las Canteras, y edificios como la Casa de Colón, el Pueblo Canario y la Catedral. Además, estas guaguas trasmiten una imagen de diversión, entretenimiento, cultura y profesionalidad acorde con el destino urbano.
Los primeros turistas en subir a las remozadas guaguas panorámicas de dos plantas han sido los viajeros del crucero Oceana, quienes han podido disfrutar de recorridos guiados en estos vehículos y subir o apearse de los mismos todas las veces que lo requieran gracias al sistema ‘hop on hop off’, que ofrece la Guagua Turística.
La Guagua Turística se ha convertido en sus 5 años de servicio en la capital en una de las herramientas de movilidad más utilizadas por los visitantes. En los cinco primeros meses de 2013, el bus turístico ha transportado a 31.158 viajeros, sobre todo, ingleses, alemanes y españoles.
Con 6 vehículos en circulación en temporada alta y 4 en temporada baja, la frecuencia de paso en invierno es de 20 minutos y en verano, cada 30 minutos. Los tours, de 1 hora de duración en horario de mañana, transcurren por los lugares más emblemáticos de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Por la tarde, el recorrido se amplía con unas vistas panorámicas de la ciudad y el Auditorio, hasta alcanzar 1 hora y 20 minutos.
Promoción de verano para residentes
Por su parte, con el objeto de fomentar el servicio entre los canarios, City Sightseeing Las Palmas de Gran Canaria pone en marcha este verano un precio especial para residentes. Hasta el 30 de septiembre, los ciudadanos canarios de cualquier isla pueden adquirir su ticket por 8 euros para adultos y 4 euros para niños, accediendo con ello a todas las ventajas del City Tour.

The City Councillor of Tourism of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Pablo Barbero, attended today, Monday the 17th of June, at the access of the Santa Catalina Cruiser Dock, the presentation of the new outside image of the City Tourist Bus, managed by the multinational City Sightseeing in coincidence with the stop of cruiser Oceana that brought 2.000 passengers to the city.
The Tourist Bus adapts its outside deco to the city’s tourist Brand, whilst sporting the images of some emblematic locations like Las Canteras Beach, and buildings like the Columbus’ House, Pueblo Canario, and the Cathedral. Besides, these buses show an image of fun, entertainment, culture and professionalism that is linked to the urban destination.
The first tourists to use the new panoramic double-deckers have been the passengers of cruise ship Oceana, who could enjoy guided tours in these vehicles and to hop off and on any times they may like.
Along its 5 years of service in the city, the Tourist Bus has become one of the most used transport tools. In the first five months of 2013, the Tourist Bus has given guided tours to 31.158 travellers, mostly British, Germans and Spanish.
With 6 vehicles running in the high season and 4 in the low season, its frequency is that of 20 minutes in winter, and 30 minutes in summer. The tours, of 1 hour of length during mornings, go along the most emblematic locations of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Afternoon services are widen with panoramic sights of the city and passes near the Auditorium and have a length of 1hour and 20 minutes.
Summer promo for residents
Focusing on promoting the service among Canarian residents, City Sightseeing Las Palmas de Gran Canaria starts this summer a special price for residents of any of the Canary Islands. Until the 30th of September, Canary citizens will be able to buy the ticket at a price of 8 euro for adults, and 4 euro for children, will all the advantages of the City Tour.
