The CAAM is a culture institution founded in 1989 and under the auspices of the Cabildo de Gran Canaria.

This museum and art centre, an exponent of the contemporary arts vanguards, offers an ambitious programme of exhibitions, an intense agenda of contemporary art-related activities such as conferences, courses and workshops, and a service of specialised library and shop.

The most significant uniqueness of this museum and art centre lays on its tri-continental vocation of the arts and thoughts exhibited as they move around the visual culture of America, Africa and Europe.

Located in the borough of Vegueta, the CAAM exhibition halls are found in a historic building of Balcones Street that was refurbished by the prestigious Spanish architect Francisco J. Sáenz de Oiza.
